I thought there was a lunch thread, but I can't find it.

Stuffed artichoke for lunch. Took 15 minutes to cook in the Instant Pot (10 minutes to come to pressure)

Edit - Forgot to take a picture of stuffed before cooking.

Side note - took me about 3 minutes to slice all this garlic (about half a head/bulb) ... maybe not even.

Side note 2 - My Dragon Riot knife took the stems and heads off like cutting butter.😍

Great pics.
So what does an artichoke take like? Do you eat everything but the very stem end?

You skin the inner side of the leaf and the very bottom of the leaf with your teeth. I fold the leaf in half, inner side out and run it down my teeth. Not sure how to describe the flavor. You eat the heart. Some people do peel, cook, and eat the stem. Have you never had artichoke hearts or dip?

Yeah, the leaves are tough. You just scrape the "meat" off with your teat, and toss the rest.

Now, jarred/canned artichoke hearts are tender, and make a great spinach and artichoke dip.

I also make this from time to time...

How bizarre! Just had some artichokes in with my supper. Even tho canned a few of the outer leaves were still tough.

Interesting. I'd have to youtube that skin by your teeth thing.

I've eaten the hearts you buy in a jar with olive oil, but only as an addition to a pasta dish with other ingredients. Never by themselves.
I doubt they would taste even remotely like what your pics look like.

@msmofet do you have one of those slicers? Wow. Never saw that before, looked it up.

Do you use it for the other things suggested? Chocolate, cheese, etc. Seems a tad expensive just for garlic - unless you do all that garlic once a week! LOL

$21.00 doesn’t seem to bad.

The usual for lunch...a whole avocado, lightly salted, along with a handful of assorted grape tomatoes (orange, red, yellow) and a glass of flavored water I made with our SodaStream machine. Two bakery chocolate chip cookies for dessert. That's enough to keep me until suppertime.

Amazon.ca not quite the same here. Don't know how they come up with that price! $21.49 usd = $29.98 cad
But the really weird part is it is difficult to call up on Amazon.ca. Have to go in a round about way.

I also see it on Snapklik for $35 usd, reduced from $45 usd. Shipping from New York via Fed Ex. - which would probably bring it up that other 20$ Amazon is charging.
