Boil an egg. Whack a potato waffle under the grill. While they are doing, finely chop a smallish tomato. When the egg is hard boiled, mash it (we don't want any bouncy bits of egg white!!) Mix the tomato and mashed egg with a small amount of mayo and a good amount of freshly ground pepper. Pile on top of the potato waffle and put back under the grill for a few minutes to heat through. Heaven!

I tried cooking under my grill... nothing happened.

CD ;)

What is a potato waffle???

The egg and tomato combination sounds a little strange to me, but I won't knock something until I've tried it.

Just realized, my go-to is Peanut Butter. With jam or banana or nothing but the bread. If I don't happen to have bread at that particular moment - a spoonful of peanut butter is just fine. It's sweet, salty, creamy maybe even celery or something ccrunchy.
If I have celery though it is more liable to be cheese.
If I have cream cheese, bread or bagel. Sometimes just a sandwicch of cream cheese mixed with some relish.

If I can't think of anything else - it is usually because I don't want to get out pots or pans and cook something. Either too hungry to wait or too lazy.

I love celery and peanut butter. And apple slices and peanut butter.

I really don't eat peanut butter very often, but I always keep it around because my son goes through it like crazy. One of my favorite peanut butter snacks, though, is making a folded PB sandwich if I come home from work starving. I eat it mostly just to get something in my stomach and take the edge off my hunger. And I like drizzling the PB with honey. One slice of bread, PB & honey, fold it up and it's a yummy little treat.

I don't make potato waffles - BirdsEye make them for me! (Basically mashed potato, formed into a waffle and then grilled til crispy. Pretty unhealthy and not something I have regularly, but my, oh my, so very tasty! (I sometimes top them with three slices of strong (sharp) cheddar and baked beans instead of the egg and tomato - even less effort and a terrific quick fix.) Also great topped with scrambled eggs. (No, I don't work for BirdsEye.)

I had never heard of putting peanut butter with jelly (or jam as I would call it). Sounded pretty strange in fact! For years, I scoffed at the idea. Then I tried it. And found it really rather good! It has to be good quality peanut butter (I favour a dark roasted, crunchy variety), and I like it with blueberry jam. Quite the snack!

PB&J's (peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) are a staple here in the states. You can even buy them frozen. I have one of the little contraptions (shown below) to make my own 'Uncrustables' at home.

I love blueberry jam.

Okay, don't laugh, but I always thought Blueberries were only grown in America. And the reason for that is the song "I found my Thrill, on Blueberry Hill". Which I heard in my teens on "Happy Days". (That was WAY before the internet.) When I discovered Blueberries were widely available in Britain, I was amazed! Anyway, they are my favourite fruit.

Ha, too funny. However, I'm glad they exist because I love blueberry anything. In fact, I had a glass of blueberry wine just last night. Blueberries and blackberries. I can eat them like candy.

I am glad they exist too! What a lovely fruit - no peeling, no seeding, no segmenting. Just eat! :yum:
