What instrument do you play?

i have played this thing thing for about 30 years

I played the clarinet in high school - about 45 yrs ago.

The best I can do is the phonograph. I have very long fingers and have had friends tell me that I needed to play the piano. Had some folks try to teach me but each attempt ended in failure.

i'm always sad to hear things like that . so many people think that playing an instrument takes some sort of magic talent when all it is , is that all it takes is patience and a little determination , its a skill anyone can learn IF they don't give up

I was a professional musician (keyboards, drums) for almost 20 years. I've played in 42 of the 50 states and even did a few DOD/USO tours. That's all in the past, though.

I still have a keyboard I play occasionally.

I played flute in HS and electric bass. I can support Sara's kazoo with a rhythm egg or a pair of spoons.

I had never played a musical instrument before except for a little organ I had as a child.
Then suddenly in my late 40s, I started having a go at the piano and realised what I'd been missing!
It's true @grumpyoldman , you just have to put your mind to it, lots of determination, patience, perseverance, and of course a love for music, too.
Singing out loud playing the piano is my savior when I need to vent!

true story : my dad bought me my 1st guitar when i was 11 years old and it cost $11.45 .... can hardly buy a set of strings for that now
