Outstanding!
Hey, Uncle Bob.
Uncle Bob! It sure is good to see you. Don't be such a stranger, and stop by more often.
When we went to the restaurant Chef and the Farmer several years ago, we got a delicious sausage appetizer. It was drizzled with a tasty, tangy sauce that turned out to be simply Duke's mayonnaise. I love it.As I said in an earlier post to this thread, Hellmann's all the way.
I have wanted to try Kewpie and Duke's because they come so highly recommended. I read recently that Costco now sells Kewpie. We happened to be there today and I picked up a jar of Kewpie to try out. Just under $6 for a 24 ounce squeeze bottle. I made a sandwich with it. It has a sweet taste that reminds me of the "other" mayonnaise/salad dressings from the days when I was a lot younger (Kraft, Cain's and Miracle Whip). I don't care for it. Won't buy it again.
We hope to travel to NC in late Fall. I'll look for a jar of Duke's then.
If we decide to go, our destination is Hickory. We have health issues that may get in the way.Where are you planning to go in NC?
It's actually the same company, since 1927. Doesn't it say on the US jars that it's called Hellmann's east of the Rocky Mountains and Best Foods West of the Rockies? In Canada, I'm pretty sure we only get Hellmann's, both east and west of the Rockies.Best Foods, but I guess it is the Southwest version of Hellman's?
It has been the same company but like many other companies they have changed their recipe over the years. It's actually the same company, since 1927.
