i was just browsing through some of my security camera videos and thought this might be a fun topic to talk about .
we have everything from bears on or front patio to deer and raccoons walking through our yard

The usual suspects here include deer, rabbits, racoons, coyotes, fox, and, occasionally, a wildcat.

We have a variety of birds, too. Lots of hawks, an eagle here and there, buzzards who munch on some of our unfortunate critters who lose the battle with some sort of vehicle.

Snakes, frogs and turtles are also part of our living environment, especially near/in our 2-acre pond.

We are out in the country in a heavily wooded area, so there is plenty of space for all these creatures to roam and live. We've even seen a tiny fawn or two on our front porch. They didn't see us, but we saw them.

We live in a condo complex of townhouse style condos on the banks of a river.
There are wooded areas around us.

I have seen wild turkeys, Canada geese, ducks, rabbits, foxes, squirrels and chipmunks. Also, we have a nest of bald eagles near the river. We had a doe right behind our house. A few rats down by the river.

Mostly squirrels here by day, and rabbits at night. Coyotes and bobcats are the predators here. Field rats are abundant now that a stupid neighbor had the city round up the feral cats (then she moved). The rats are a big problem in winter months. The move into my garage, and sometimes into the engine compartment of my car.

It is the end of tarantula mating season now, so I've seen a few of them recently. They are not venomous.

i listen to my neighbors complain about the deer eating their flowers and the bears getting it their garbage cans but thats ok by me the way i see it the critters were here long before we were , i guess i never met a critter i didn't like
caseydog: i remember years ago driving down a 2 lane highway in New Mexico about this time of year and it was covered with those things , sounded like corn flake's crunching under my tires

Like Andy, I live in a "condo complex of townhouse style condos" with lots of green space with grassy areas and trees.

Inside of my tiny yard I get squirrels, birds, skunks, and rarely a rabbit. Counting the common grounds of the condo association. There has been the rare wild turkey and there used to be the occasional fox. I guess we don't get the Canada geese, because we are about 2 km from the river towards the north and about 4.5 km from the river to the south. It's a built up suburban area. We do see them overhead in spring and fall. And, people living closer to the river to the south do see them at home.

We have a lot of variety and we have it every day and every night, last night deer again.

We don't have mountain lions, no bears so far, no bob cats, no muskrats, ....but there are bears within 10 miles. No muskrats or beavers because we don't have a waterway on our land.
No moose, no wolves (that we know of) and no wild boar.

Ducks and geese will be flying low over my house and landing in the ponds South of my house starting in about a month, as they rest on their migration down to the Gulf coast.

While I live well within the city limits there is a little scope of woods behind the houses on my street and the houses on the next street.
I can remember squirrels, 'possoms, 'coons, and rabbits along with a good variety of birds.
A Yellow Crowned Night Heron nested and raised a brood in the next door neighbor's big oak tree one year. Not very near any body of water so I'm at a loss as to what she fed on. Then there was the Great Horned Owl I was afraid might decide to make off with my little dog sometime.

We have opossum, armadillo, coyote, but mostly alligator.

I see a possum (that's how we spell it in Texas) about once a year. I had an albino possum sleeping in my big oak tree once. Psychopoodle didn't see it, and I didn't point it out to him.

I was a bit surprised to see opossums here in Southern Ontario. I always thought of them as from about Virginia and down. Mark Twain and Daniel Boone. Evidently they've been making their way north for ages.
Caught a baby one in the netting a couple of years ago.

On the Cape we regularly have squirrels, rabbits, foxes, coyotes, wild turkeys, deer and lots of birds — mostly seagulls and aggressive crows.

In Boston (right in the city) we are overwhelmed by rabbits. We have the occasional skunk, raccoon and possum. A very once in awhile rat.

Another very once in awhile are deer and coyotes that wander out of a huge wooded cemetery at the end of my block.

right now, on our nyc porch, a blue jay is being very loud and pecking the flowers and herbs
