What music have you been listening to lately?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I hadn't really listed to this recently, but I thought some of you might get a laugh out of it, given what day it is.

The original I think came out 2 years after I was born, so this has always been a contentious subject.

I'm listening to a reaction video to the new Linkin Park album from zero :<). Just watched their new single from the bottom too :<). I can't wait to see em on sept 17th :<) Sadly I thought I would have time to see them before chester died and missed out :<(

I've been all over the place on music lately. Before I closed down my computer, I was listening to The Doobie Brothers and Peter Frampton doing Let it Rain.

Then I got hooked on Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary concert with Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Roger McGuin, Tom Petty, George Harrison and of course, Bob Dylan, all singing a verse of My Back Pages.

And then I got stuck on Steeleye Span. Here's their version of Gaudete:

I've been listening to videos on YouTube of people who were born in the 1990s and later who are listening to "my music", stuff from the 1960s to 1980s, mostly rock. It's really fun watching their surprise at how good some of that stuff was. And, I'll listen to k.d. lang any time. This has to be one of my favourites. Leonard Cohen was asked if he wanted to do a duet with her singing Hallelujah for the Olympics and he replied that it was her song now. Here's a video of the performance that would have been that duet, if Leonard Cohen had been willing.

Have you heard k.d.'s version of Roy Orbison's "Crying"? She got a standing ovation for that one.

Since I've gotten the headphones and the Wi-fi is free at the gym, I listen to iHeart radio. Plays from the 60's to the 80's. When I suddenly get fed up with that I'll go Country and then light Classical. Don't ask me the names of any songs. I recognize names, either songs or singers, but certainly cannot match them together.

But I don't listen other than at the gym. I do have a clock/radio/alarm, not sure if it works. Use it for time only. Hadn't listen to radio since before 2004 and moved to the farm. Only just started again.

Funny thing, is the DJ gives the tour dates of groups (eg Eagles in Vegas, etc.) Goes along with what was being mentioned on another thread. 🤭

I put on 5 albums this morning, to listen to while planting those soaking pepper seeds (that only took me about 45 min), and they are just finishing! Brad Paisley's first album, Who Needs Pictures, Zac Brown Band's Uncaged, Ricky Van Shelton's A Bridge I Didn't Burn, John Anderson's Seminole Wind, and Mark Chesnutt's Tradition Lives. Usually there are a few songs I have to skip, because I can't bring myself to listen through them, but there weren't any in these!

I've heard a couple of tracks off the new Elton John and Brandy Carlisle collaboration "Who Believes in Angels?" I'm impressed. Most artists lose their creative drive as they get older, but the title track is surprisingly good. Elton seems to feed off the energy of the younger artists he hangs out with these days.

I didn't know about this collaboration, they're great! Elton John is timeless, his talent has definitely remained intact!

Here's to all of you - this is what we're all listening to today:

1040 Form Blues

Edited to add: despite what the video says, this was recorded by Memphis Slim. I have the CD is how I know.
