Have you heard k.d.'s version of Roy Orbison's "Crying"? She got a standing ovation for that one.I've been listening to videos on YouTube of people who were born in the 1990s and later who are listening to "my music", stuff from the 1960s to 1980s, mostly rock. It's really fun watching their surprise at how good some of that stuff was. And, I'll listen to k.d. lang any time. This has to be one of my favourites. Leonard Cohen was asked if he wanted to do a duet with her singing Hallelujah for the Olympics and he replied that it was her song now. Here's a video of the performance that would have been that duet, if Leonard Cohen had been willing.
Yes, I have and it is fabulous. Have you heard her duet with Roy Orbison of Crying? That's pretty darned good too.Have you heard k.d.'s version of Roy Orbison's "Crying"? She got a standing ovation for that one.

I've heard a couple of tracks off the new Elton John and Brandy Carlisle collaboration "Who Believes in Angels?" I'm impressed. Most artists lose their creative drive as they get older, but the title track is surprisingly good. Elton seems to feed off the energy of the younger artists he hangs out with these days.
