That's more 3rd or 4th grade: how to run a chipper/shredder down by the river.

Btw, that's where we used to get our tap water from. :(

C'mon down to my house tomorrow, CG.

We're ordering out again. Again.

They won't notice a few extra takeouts.

Today's supper took three days to make, and ten minutes to eat. :yum:

I'm not a big fan of asian food (don't hurt me!), but I do like Korean BBQ. I came across this video at SousVideEverything on YouTube (one of my favorite YouTube channels). So, I gave it a try.

It was awesome. Amazing flavor, and butter-like tender.

It took a long time, but very little work. Fifteen minutes to make the marinade. The rest of the cook did itself while I went about my business. Very little cleanup, too.

Here is a photo of how mine came out.

There is no where, and I mean NO WHERE here in Cowboyville that
A) I can order out Galbi (or in Hawaii we say Kalibi)
and
B) I can BUY "Flanken Cut" Beef Short Ribs to make my OWN, DANG IT!!!

DANG IT!! Casey, you are killin' me!!

Then to cook it Sous Vide for that extra tender, juicy, yumminess ...

Please tell me you had a bowl of steamed Rice on the side and some Kim Chee?

I watched that video and a few hours later, was in the grocery store, and saw some nice flanken cut short ribs for a decent price. I took that as a sign.

I did have some rice handy, but forgot to cook it. DOH! No kimchee. I'm not a fan.

The video title says Galbi, but it is also known as Kalbi. I think it is one of those asian words that does not have a proper English translation. The English name is probably based on what the Korean name sounds like when spoken to different people.

I will make this again! It was very easy to make, in spite of the long time involved. The marinade really surprised me. When I first tasted it right out of the blender, I was not impressed. But, what it did to the meat was very impressive.
