I stand corrected:
Flying Moneys across the ceiling, apples and leaves falling on the audience,, lots of 4D effects:

Last time I actually went to a movie theater was around 1990. I took my Mom to see "Dances with Wolves" with Kevin Costner...because she asked me to take her.

Don't get me wrong, huge movie buff. Going to the theater just lost it's charm with the high prices imposed and often in less than ideal circumstances.

We've always kept a room with a home theater setup. Before the age of streaming we kept physical media, VHS tapes, DVD, Blue-Ray, etc. All of the physical media has gone the way of the dodo and I'm glad I don't have to keep up with it anymore.

Has anyone noticed that the quality of the newer movies since Covid seems to have gone downhill?

Yeah I remember those days in early 2000-2010 when I used the Bose Acoustimass 5.1 with 5 speakers including a big subwoofer hooked up to a Harmon Kardon AVR receiver for movies and my Xbox, which I played a lot, now it's in storage but always tempted to set it up but it's a lot of equipment in the area where I have my 55" Samsung and I would need to reconfigure to make room, and i just don't have the desire to do that right now, but maybe later, lol.

I took the kids to see 101 Dalmations in the 90s but I remember seeing Hitch actually when it came out, 2005. Certainly not yesterday!!!

I had one of those setups. It seemed like a good idea when I bought it, but never liked it. I switched to all Klipsch speakers.

It worked for me for movies and my xbox and it was a small room just for 4 people, almost a closet, lol.

My music system was and is totally different and was in a different space as well. That system I run and still use tannoy speakers and I have a PrimaLuna tube amp with a rega preamp with my Denon 3000 tuntable with a 3009 SME tone arm with a ortofon cartridge. it's decent for what I like to listen to (vinyl) without going absolutely crazy price wise, this is about my limit anyway. :)

Does anyone remember? It was CG or GG who used to go to a dinner theater? I'm pretty sure it was film and not live. I think there are a few of those around, would I go? Not sure. Sure sounds great though!
I don't remember which one of them.

Would I go? Maybe. I like the idea. But, I would need to hear good reviews that I trust, both about the comfort, etc. and about the food. If a friend or a group of friends was going, that would encourage me to go too.

Back in the 80s, I had a Carver Amplifier (Bob Carver). I also had a Dual turntable. When I put together my current home theater, I went with a Yamaha 7.1 surround receiver. I gave all my vinyl to my best friend, who had a big collection. I don't have a turntable anymore.

I found an old picture of my current home theater on my work computer...

That is a rear tire from a Lamborghini Diablo as the base for that 36-inch glass-top table. :ROFLMAO:
