a friend of mine is really into hunting big time , he hunts birds , deer, elk and who knows what else , we were talking the other day and i asked him, don't you think it would be cheaper to buy your meat from a store ? his answer was that he had calulated the cost per pound once and as best he could figure it was somewhere near $ 300.00 per pound , i said that can't be right , but according to him when he factored in the license , tags , gas , guns , ammo, special clothing , boots , and a whole host of other misc expenses it came out somewhere in that price range . the more we talked the more i was convinced he was pretty close to being right .....i get it this guy loves to hunt . but this is nuts !!!

I would say if you base it on a yearly consumption of wild game to domestic. You'd have to calculate just how much you consume of each.
Then you have to calculate in - how much do you spend on a vacation somewhere, be it the cottage, RV, cruise, flights, etc. Add that to the domestic total.
Hunting lovers have a win-win by having their vacations and sourcing their proteins all in one! 🙃🙃😁

Just think about it. How many vacations have you come home from and said "What a waste of money!"
