Your Home Made Christmas Gifts?

Hello.
Does anyone else have a tradition of making gifts either in their kitchen, or hobby nook etc?
Being that I returned to my childhood home a few years ago, I fondly remembered that the giving of Italian treats shaped the festive atmosphere of my younger years.
So last year I made savoiardi for my neighbours and this year I am going to make ricciarelli.
Please share your favourite gifting traditions made by your own hands.

I sold crocheted stuff professionally for a few years. I used to crochet hats and scarves as gifts.

I had a friend who made exquisite crocheted tree ornaments. She would make them very personalised and the intricate patterns and embellishments she used made them instant heirlooms.

It was a childhood tradition for everyone in the neighbourhood to share little gifts at festive season. A very Mediterranean tradition. Not many people here were wealthy, and it was never about showboating. A lemon conserve made from the backyard fruit, a big beer bottle filled with Nonna’s tomato passata, a patch made especially for adding to your latest quilting project - better days, in my opinion.

Your tradition sounds so lovely and homemade Italian treats are such a thoughtful gift! I like to make spiced nuts and jars of homemade jam to give to friends and family during the holidays. Ricciarelli sounds amazing I'm sure your neighbors will love them!

I make sweet breads--apple pecan, cranberry orange pecan, and pumpkin pecan, and gingersnaps to give. The jar is cranberry chutney, aka "holiday chutney." I make up platters and give them to folks around here.

Very nice.

And I always say "Who doesn't love a gift you can eat!"

This year I'm doing the same thing for family members. As much as I despise baking, I really have no choice. I can't afford to buy everyone gifts anymore.

Now I want spritz cookies

Lately, my sister who lives around the corner, gets 6 quarts of my organic chicken stock made with my garden vegetables. Over the years I have sewn pot holders, Christmas tree skirts, placemats, table runners, oven mitts, casserole carriers, table cloths with matching napkins and aprons. I'm still making pot holders and aprons to keep in stock for gifts.

All of this sharing is lovely! I’m in a bit of a pickle right now because it’s seeming like I’m having to support a family member who just can’t earn himself any money.
But I won’t go through not gifting.

DH has his bi-weekly haircut with the same guy he's been with for sometime now.
I had a bunch of different sweets in the deep freeze that can simply be fancied up to give as a food gift.
I had these adorable Christmas themed wrappings for foods stored away and just found them again.
