NY - New York City ... Old World Vienna style pastries

Demel's Old World Pastry Shop Satelite comes to the Plaza [Hotel] Arcade.

Wow! This is really something, one doesn't have to go to Vienna to be at an authentic Viennese pastry shop. Dobos torte is one of my favorite desserts and it is the cake in the picture. Now, if they would only come out with a baking book.

Well, ChefJune--have you made it there, yet? I would love to get your thoughts on the desserts. It is a dream of mine to go to Vienna. I would settle for Demel's in NYC.

New York City has got to be the best city in the world for food lovers. I envy the people who live there.

gloat gloat gloat.. aherm...

thanks piesue,

dw gets more difficult every year with what cake she'd eat for her b'day. if it's not healthy (yeah, i know, a "healthy" cake? ), then it has to be extraordinary. sock blowing off of, as it were in bad english.

me thinks this will be her next birthday cake.

^When you get there, you will be awestruck and you will have a hard time choosing. Each dessert is more amazing than the next. Might I suggest a Dobosh torte if they have it there?
