jake's working till 11:30 so maybe i'll clean, discusscooking, watch movies or read or both, then visit my favorite sammich restaurant/bar. later i'll probably cook dinner if i'm around when jake gets hungry. my felines will likely lovingly assist with dinner as my taste-testers.
what's your saturday like?

Unfort., I have to work tonight and tomorrow...ugh! Oh well its raining outside so can't really do anything outdoors anyway.

Walked the doggy early this morning, went shopping this afternoon, bought Casino Royale (yay!) came home and did yoga for an hour. Nice hot shower soon followed by sofa, snuggles and BOND!!!!

Hope all of you lovely people are enjoying your Saturday!

Turned out horses early, early this am. Went to work, had a great day with sales. Leaving work around 5:00 Don't have to clean stalls tonight or tomorrow. Planning on a romantic dinner with DH. Weather couldn't be nicer.

Went to Sam's and bought the large bag of frozen hashbrown potatoes(Ore Ida brand). It cost $4.12 for a 6 pound bag. I divided it up into 3 and 4 cup portions. Then I used my foodsaver on them. There is only the two of us, so that is just the right amount for a meal. I got 9 bags. It comes up to about 45 cents a bag.:)

The Oatmeal Cookies

We went to Breakfast this morning.

Came home: "stripped the bed" Did bed clothes wash.

Put the Lemon Chicken to cook in the Crock Pot

Baked Oatmeal Cookies

Baked a Chocolate Cake

Time to read, relax.

coming in for a visit while taking a break from cleaning the house and making sauce.
Glad to have a nice place to go!!!!!!!

It was a beautiful day here in the hills of Kentucky. Its very mild and springy, everything is turning green. We walked the dogs, I ran errands, including buying myself two new spring purses, went to the grocery and now I'm going to grill thick pork chops and slather them in a chipotle rasberry sauce, with a side of roasted red potatoes and a salad.

we have a dvd to watch tonight - its a foreign movie called The Death of Mr. Lazarsecu. My hubby is not too keen to watch this so we might watch something on HBO.

Sizzlin, I worked a lot of weekends when I owned the greenhouses, especially in the spring.

I've had a nice, quiet day, which is a blessing, as I've had a contracter here all week, tearing the heck out of the house. It's a beautiful day, and DH spent all morning outside, weeding and strawing the asparagus bed.
I went outside and sat on the deck for a while, just smelling the spring air and checking out all the little things that are coming up in the woods.
We both had naps, and he's out puttering in his shop now. Lovely day.

up at 5:30. old pooch had a bad night so I had one as well, put on the coffee, showered, fed dogs, fish and chucked some hay to the horse. No kidlets this morning, DH went to meet some buddies at the coffee shop and I took my coffee outside and put in the plants around the fish pond. Then had a second cup and read the paper..Made 3 foccacia's for DH's birthday party next weekend, these are now, one in the oven, one on second rise and third on first rise...Also did some watering and then put in several armenian cucumbers, and 4 Italian long green sweet chiles..Got cleaned up and went and ordered the birthday cake for next week, ordered some flowers to float in shallow bowls on mirrors for the tables..Now, getting ready to put the beef in the crock pot for shredded beef tacos and taquitos tomorrow..Polenta was scrapped as I decided to make foccacia, so dinner is broccoli salad, french rolls stuffed with meats and cheese for him and avocado, tomatoe, red onion, lettuce and cheese for me and a bowl of french onion soup..He will now go irrigate and I plan to buzz around here and maybe read a little...
kadesma

my bestest girlfriend came to Colorado for the weekend. i haven't seen her for 9 years! i drove 75 miles to meet her for the day. we had a great time. it was snowing/raining all day so we found a little restaurant and ducked inside. drank coffee, ate lunch, had a couple of glasses of wine. luckily, the place wasn't busy so they were happy to have us there. we laughed lots then had to say goodbye...

Aria-
those cookies look tasty!!1

Callie-
where have you been hiding?

My day began with my 2 favorite boys jumping all over me as I layed in bed half asleep. Showered. Talked to my dad for a little bit. Took pizza to dh for lunch at the station. We all ate together and the kids played.
It is absolutely pouring rain!!! Buckets for the past 3 days. yuck. So what did I decide to do on a rainy Saturday? Go to the mall with two kids in tow. It was crazy in there! We were able to hold our own and escaped with a pair of shoes for each of them. Whew!
Drank a london fog on the way home and successfully kept both the kids from falling asleep. Now they are playing. I will clean next so that all my work is done when they are down for the night.
I got the second disk of the sixth season of friends from Netflix today. It has that episode with Phoebe running, looking like a frog. It will be a nice evening of friends and laundry. I'll finish the night off with more dc.

Hi, corazon!! I'm here...:)

What's a london fog??

Our day's almost over. Beautiful day weatherwise. Temp about 80, which is quite warm for this time of the year but, hey, we'll take it. Unfortunately, though, this usually means severe storms. We'll have to take that, too.

Lazy day here. I was having a really positive day writing-wise. I'm working on a novel and my creative juices have been flowing almost uncontrollably. Even while I was ironing Buck's shirts today, I couldn't make my mind stop racing.

Buck did some chores and then spent some of his day cursing at the "boomshine" game that someone on this site introduced him to. Yes, it's addictive and maddening when you get to the 55 out of 60 stage. Grrrrrrr!

Since it was so mild, Buck and I spent "cocktail time" out on our big front porch doing some porch settin' with our outdoor kitties. The felines were more than happy for us to join them. They really miss our porch sessions. Well, Buck and I miss those times, too.

Love being able to throw open windows and doors to let the stale winter air out and invite the fresh new air in. I'm ready. Have been for too long.

"Let the spring days begin!!!!"

mmm
london fog

I had this as a special at one of our fave bakeries and since that I've been hooked! It's a third hot water, which they put an earl grey tea bag in there. Steam some milk with vanilla and pour it over the tea. It is soooo tasty! I get one now every time I go into town. I think they call it a vanilla miso at starbucks? It's like a secret drink that isn't on any menus but all the baristas know of it.

Sounds like everyone had a nice day. This morning I slept in because I got home late last night from a retirement party. Then I had breakfast and a cup of coffee while watching the morning news. After that myself and the dog went shopping in the next town which is 20 miles away. First I had the propane tank filled so that I could cook on the grill tonight. Then I went to the pharmacy to pick up a card for a friend who is in the hospital. I think everyone else had the idea to go grocery shopping because the store was very busy. Came home put the groceries away and watched the rest of the NASCAR Busch race.
