Thanks Jocelyn! Apples are the only thing that I can think of (besides water) that have stood the test of time and are still considered healthy! LOL So many foods come and go - apples apparently are here to stay.

Apples are an interesting idea--I'll have to keep some tonight to keep on hand at work. I'm really struggling at the moment! I seem to always drag around 3:00--that mid-afternoon slump. Someone just brewed a fresh pot of coffee and I can smell it all the way down the hall in my office!

So I've been strong and abstained, but had way more sugar than I should. This sucks!

I have heard of the apples thing as a substitute for caffeine as well. I will see whether it works for nicotine too.

thanks, but I never meant to be such a blabbermouth. Let's attribute it to time on my hands and an ability to type quickly!

Bug, you're just an accomplished communicator!! An artiste!

And I'm proud of you for even considering the cessation thing! Quitting any habit is difficult (i.e., having to leave here), but nicotine is the worst. Clinically, more addictive than heroine. I smoked part of one myself last week -- the first one I've had in more than a decade -- and since, I can't stand close enough to anyone who is smoking.
