It's easy to be someone's hero and to get people to agree with you if you're always right! ;-)) She and I have been friendly for some years now. We 'knew' each other on the old boards and she invited me over here when they closed down. She lives in Boston and we've met once. She's not as frequent a visitor these days and her posts are more abrupt/curt/clipped. I think it's because she's using a smartphone now and doesn't like to thumb type.

pac, i love it when you 'get ambitious' with cooking a special meal, like this latest spanish paella of yours. the last time your cooking actually compelled me was when i finally attempted a mushroom/saffron risotto. it has probably been over twenty years since i made my last paella. sooo good. with your tantalizing pics, you've got me thinking paella again.:) most likely, a somewhat stripped-down version, though. my delicate question for you, pac--a ballpark figure for the cost of your paella ingredients in today's market? snails, another delicious splurge i've not done for two scores of years (swoon)....

If my family gave me half the compliments you do, I would never stop cooking! If it doesn't come from KFC or MC D's they don't appreciate it much lol!

Hoping you have a wonderful Christmas Pac

Hey, Pac, just wanted to let you know about Joie. I got him into the vet on Tuesday afternoon and it was caused by the allergy to the food, but was way worse than we expected. He had infection in both eyes, ears and two paws. The groomer hadn't trimmed all the hair out of these areas because of the irritation so the vet tech did a great job on him. They love our two dogs there and take such good care of them. Anyway, he is on antibiotic, cortisone (which we had to have a blood panel done first) ear drops and cream for his feet and eyes. The great news is he has lost one of the 2.5 kg he has to so we went back on the old food but less quantity to make the caloric intake of the new one. He was chewing on his favourite toy last night and doesn't seem to need the cone anymore - he isn't scratching and licking much. It is good to have our little guy "back". Thanks for your concern!

so you have a new pc, cool! i had to replace my pc last week too. new pc is crazy and hostile, still won't let me log in half the time. you said your pc is windows 7. i had windows 7 for my first two, but this is an 8. it has these pages of apps i have to scroll past before i can log on. bing has been around all along even though i use chrome. do you think i should go back to the 7 format? how are you getting along with your new pc--any major glitches? think the 8 might be a problematic new microsoft program for me, and maybe should return it? or just wait it out....what brand pc didya get, pac?

Thanks for the comment on the pizza foto. I actually didn't care for it. Kalamata olives on pizza is overpowering, and that was my half of the pizza.

hey pac, are you still loving your fire tablet? is it good for reading too? is it large enough to watch videos? what do you use it for the most? would you buy it again today? sorry for the 20 questions, but i'm sorta in the market, you might call it a 'fire sale'....:)
