Thanks Thanks! You're probably right... it might be wise to invest in a good one at this point. This is my first one like this, and I love using it (vs setting a timer on the oven)... so now that I'm hooked, I'll have to find a good one that will last a while. Again, thanks for your response!

I purchased a Good Cook Precision Digital Thermometer (to be left in while cooking; has an alarm feature). It works ok, the alarm feature is great... however, I can't figure out how to turn it off! So I have to take the battery out every time.. its a real pain. There are only 4 buttons on...
