    i'm all about "ruffing" it while camping.. what i do to insure a meal at the end of the night is set up a trout line... about 4 treble hooks on one line and let it sit for about 4 hours before checking.. always works.. and of course i take the family out to lure as well.. good times

    Cut, rinse, dry the potatoes.. blanch for 3 minutes (flash fry)... then fry for 6 minutes or until last course is ready ...

    I tried both... mayonnaise and a mexican "crema".. the cream came out watery vs the mayo.. I'll try and give them a call.... That's a good idea.... Thanks for the help everyone...

    Will applesauce work?

    sounds like a good idea...add brown sugar to taste on top of adding the apple sauce... that is if you're finding the apple sauce isn't giving enough sweetness to the vinegar.. i'd even get more adventurous and add a hint of spice/hotness let me know how your sauce comes out.. I'm curious on...

    I figured the same.. It came out ok.. but not great... The taste was there but the thickness and consistency was off... Using mayo in a Mexican sauce is just off setting to me.. Should I be using a sour cream?

    I'm sure they used mayonnaise or a creme fresh in the sauce... maybe even an avocado pulp... the consistency of spicy quac doesn't fit... It had a thick salsa puree consistency... almost like a white gravy...

    Wow thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! CWS, I will be more than happy to recommend great restaurants in San Antonio, TX (you were right about that!) and Chicago. I'm new to Chicago so I don't know many places yet.. but it's an amazing culinary city for sure! :) sooo many cultures and foods...
