Both Gluten AND Sulfite Free Recipes?

Rice Dream uses a barley enzyme to process it. I'm not sure if it's the shelf-stable or the refrigerated one. One of them uses barley and the other doesn't. I just don't buy rice dream. I use Pacific Foods rice milk.

    ISO cake decorating tips

One of my biggest challenges with cake decorating was that I could not use butter, margarine, shortening, or milk. I pretty much only had rice milk to work with and I couldn't make it thick enough. But I have since discovered a soy-free shortening and margarine and I think I will be able to do...

Green grocery bags - do you?

I noticed that at least here, the new reusable shopping bags now fold up nice and tight and have a snap on them. I didn't want to buy new ones so I used a little scrap fabric and velcro and made it so mine can fold up too--and I added a bit of "me" to them as well. This was much cheaper and...

    Muffins with Gluten-Free Oats?

Most oats actually do contain gluten although they do not contain them naturally. They are almost always grown/stored/processed with wheat and there is a large amount of cross-contamination. If you do not buy oats that are grown and stored separately they will almost always contain gluten.

    Garlic Press

I love my garlic press. I have the Pampered Chef one which also comes with a tool to remove the skin. And honestly, I am just not coordinated with knives. I have cut myself more times than I can count. My garlic press has saved me loads of time and frustration.

What utensil could you NOT do without?

I'm with you freefallin. When I can salsa I need to mince several bulbs. No slicing for me.

What utensil could you NOT do without?

My garlic press and food chopper. I can remember what life was like before I acquired those blessed luxuries! They have saved me so much time, and thus saved me from the headaches I would have had from kids whining at my feet for extended periods of time while I cooked dinner.

Need side for sweet pork chops

Great suggestions! I ended up using sticky rice this time and making the pork/sauce into a stir fry-type meal. (I needed to go grocery shopping so I couldn't make some of those other things). I really wanted to do the asparagus with it, and the potatoes but I didn't have any asparagus, or bleu...

Need side for sweet pork chops

This is the recipe I am using. It has cinnamon, nutmeg, syrup from canned peaches, brown sugar, vinegar, and cloves. The recipe says to put peach halves on the chops, but is there anything else I should/could put in the slow cooker to "beef" up the meal? What sides might go well with it? Would...
