Need to take a dish to a family...

One of my daughter's classmate's g'father passed away. My children will eat anything, although I know some children are pretty picky. I was looking for something pretty easy, possibly in a crockpot and can't include ground beef since the little girl won't eat that. Any ideas or what would YOU bring?

    Looking to impress

Chicken Scallopine with Piccata sauce is always a favorite around here that is quick and easy. Or even a good chicken parmesan with fresh mozzarella.

Help me get rid of roasted red peppers

You could make an appetizer dip with them. Or if you are already grilling pork tenderloin, chicken, etc then throw them on the grill to heat through. I also like a veggie sandwich with roasted peppers, onion and mushrooms.

    Vinaigrette Dressing

I bet you it was the onion. Was it a white or yellow one? Those are strong. I would use a shallot which is the milder onion or use a clove or two of garlic instead. I usually use champagne, white wine or apple cider vinegar but white is fine too.

    Shrimp and green bean tacos

:chef: A friend of mine sauteed fresh green beans in a dash of EVOO and some Caribbean jerk seasoning until slightly tender and then added shrimp that was also seasoned with the jerk seasoning. You add the shrimp/green bean mixture to a flour tortilla, add fresh or store bought salsa, sour...

    HELP quick...no boil noodles

Yes, its a no meat lasagna from Cooking light that is a very thin layer of sauce, cheese and noodles, so 15 minutes IS enough. I dunked the no boil noodles for a minute and they worked. Thanks!

    Cooking show suggestions?

My favorite is Barefoot Contessa. I also LOVE Alton Brown, Giada and Tyler Florence!!! I can't stand Rachael Ray, none of her recipes appeal to me.

    HELP quick...no boil noodles

The recipe on the box of the no boil noodles has the lasagna cooking for about an hour. BUT, I am using a Cooking Light recipe that has it cooking only 15 minutes, so that's why I was wondering if the no boil would cook ENOUGH in 15 minutes??? Like Robo said, maybe dunking them for a minute...

    Getting Started - What Books

I "started" on Southern Living's ultimate cookbook. Any Southern Living book is good! It is very step by step and just gets you started. For me, the dishes turned out great so it built my confidence to prepare more complicated dishes later on. I also think the books by Ina Garten, the Barefood...

    Stuffed red peppers?

Jim, I first roasted the peppers by themselves. I then sauteed the onion and garlic until they were soft. To the garlic/onion mixture, I added my lean ground beef and browned it. Then added rice, kosher salt, pepper, italian seasonings to taste and tomato sauce. I stuffed them 3/4 of the way...
