Thanks Barbara...I know, but I've got LOTS of carrots in my garden and I wanted to try something that'll give me the fresh taste of the carrots but the convience of a boxed mix. Besides I'm a cheapo and I wanted to use what I've got around here. Thanks though! :)
use a good pan. cook it at a really high temp and cook it fast. seals in all the juices. get it off the fire about 15 seconds before you think it's done and ta da.
Well...that's how I do it anyway....
:D I'd like to know if there is a recipe for carrot cake that takes a little shortcut? Is there a way to just use a regular cake mix like yellow or white, and put some shredded carrots and spices in it. If there is a good way, what are the measurements? Mostly interested in the carrot...
:D One more suggestion along the lines of salt in the water. Even with older eggs I had the problem of not an attractive peeling.
When I cook mine, I do add about 1 TB of salt to the water. When they're done, I drain the hot water out and then bang the eggs around inside of the pan to crack...
I make this when I'm really short on time.
Easiest Meat -n- Potato Recipe
1 box scalloped or augrautin potato mix
1 1lb package sausage link (like Hillshire Farms kielbasa, Polish or smoked sausage)
Microwave the sausage as per package directions
Cook the potatoes on stove as per package...
:) Probably wouldn't taste the "same" as the store bought, frozen taters but it might even be better if you maybe fried the potatoes in something like bacon grease first????? Could add some onions to the taters while they're frying too.

ha haaa...beat ya to it! :)
Yep, I've tried the ham thing and I've also added bacon. Differnt kinds of cheese too like Mozzerella (sp). I've never tried the corn flakes though. Sounds good!
Must be native...I think Wisconsin is a meat-n-potato kind of state!
I'll dig up some...
