I'm retired and have a masters in Christian studies. I like to cook and try to make everything %100 scratch. That includes making my own chicken broth, cakes and breads. I prefer scratch cooking so that I have complete control of all the ingredients in what I make and I don't find it takes much longer to prepare than it does opening up a can of whatever and heating it.
