    Can't really cook

How many calories a day do you comsume? And what do you mean when you say "I don't really eat anything?" You can still cook on a low calorie diet so I'm curious, what are you eating?

Any TNT Tomato soups out there?

Larry, why not make roasted tomato soup? I love this simple but delicious way to make tomato soup. Click on my blog, Chew On This at the bottom, then click on the link on the right "Winter, an excuse for Comfort Food." The recipe calls for roasted tomatoes and that's very easy to make. The...

ISO opinions on Cast Iron Casserole Dish

Most casserole dishes are good. Try Pyrex or any of the cast iron dishes that are less expensive than LeCreuset. All of my casserole dishes are cast iron and only one of the 5 is NOT a LeCreuset. People have been making great casseroles for years without paying an arm and a leg. Try a couple...

    Chicken Picatta

Chicken and Veal Piccata are on my favorites list waaaay at the top. I like to pair this with a pasta with light sauce so if won't interfere with the awesome lemon/caper flavor of the dish itself. Keep it simple. I also agree with a side of steamed and buttered broccoli, carrots pr better...

    Nintendo Wii

I bought my grandson a Wii for Christmas a year ago and we had a lot of fun with it. It came with 4 games, bowling, baseball and two others and we found it addictive. This year I got him the Guitar Hero with several instruments. THAT one is hilarious and more fun than you can imagine. The...

Cutting Boards ~ Bamboo or Plastic or Both

I have 3 of each, bamboo and plastic. I prefer the bamboo over the plastic. I think the bamboo cleans easier, and doesn't stain.

    Salmonella is spreading (peanut butter)

I've been buying peanut butter for a few months now. Both the jarred 365 Brand from Whole Foods and their freshly ground peanuts (great for peanut butter cookies) with no problem. I wish I had bought 2 jars now. No telling when we'll be able to buy it again. I GOTTA have peanut butter.

    What is Apricot Nectar?

I used to drink this instead of juice. It can be found in the juice section of any supermarket. It's not thin like orange juice; more like a thin puree. It's used in recipes for cakes, cookies, etc. Click here for more recipes.

    Steam Carpet Cleaners...

This may be true in some cases but not all. I had carpeting in all of my retail stores as well as throughout my homes and always had Stanley Steamer do the job. My retail stores had stains you wouldn't believe and they NEVER came back. Same with the stains on my own home carpeting. I don't...

    Bay Leaves

I try to buy fresh bay leaves whenever I can. Whole Foods is the only store here that carries them all the time. They will last in your vegetable crisper for weeks so no need to worry about spoiling. I prefer the fresh to dried.

Brining Baked Potatoes And Other Potato Questions

I've been told by someone who works for Outback, that they use the same oil that is used on buttered popcorn at the movies. It's not really butter, but a butter flavored oil. That's probably why you aren't getting the same flavor. Why not ask the manager of Outback what they use. You might...

    Lard in your pastry!

When we visited my in-laws relatives in the U.P. of Michigan, Cornish pasties were always on the menu for dinner. They made pasties with beef suet and I have to tell you there isn't a crust I've tasted since that can compare. Suet (lard) makes the flakiest, richest crust ever for savory pies...
