    Frozen habanero-not hot?

    I dried them whole, but I cannot remember whether we had tried them off that particular plant before they were dried. I was just curious.

    Habaneros are...well...HOT. I dried several in the oven and the chopped them and froze them. Everytime I used them in recipes, they were not at all hot. Is that normal or did i mess up?

    So, why do store-bought peppers not have that overpowering taste? I know the dangers of bacteria, etc, which is why I came for help! I didn't want to just decide I could change the ratio and be safe! :) Alix, you mentioned "if I am not using pressure canning methods"...if I were to use that...
