    Kraft Singles Recall

Hi. Just curious. How can her lactose intolerant boys eat this 'cheese'? Cheese is made from milk. In fact the first ingredient on the ingredients labels is milk. Oh, or is that what you haven't figured out? I hope your niece figured it out... it's definitely not something she should be...

50 Comfort Foods For 50 States

Very interesting. I didn't look at them all yet because I stopped at Connecticut, which is where I live. I don't know if I should be embarrassed or not. Steamed burger???!!! What the heck is that? All I know is, it sure isn't impressive. I've experienced many great burgers in Connecticut, but...

    Salmon Burgers

I think salmon must be one of those things there are endless ways to cook. Tonight I had an almond granola crusted salmon, that starts out in an oven safe fry pan on the stove. When the crust is nicely browned, it gets turned and the pan with the salmon goes in oven to finish cooking. The citrus...

Your ideas for using anchovies & paste, please

I guess my use of anchovy paste is the most expected, most common. I try to find healthy alternatives to things I love when it's something that could be really heavy, and not so heart-healthy. I searched for a lite Caesar dressing. I think Caesar salad is the one time I get the whole romaine...

    Potato Recipes

Chief... great idea for the workplace. I wish I had thought of it before I retired in January. Otherwise though, I LOVE the firm skin. I can't wait to get to the skin, which I save for last... after the potato and the rest of the meal is gone. Then I savor it, breaking off pieces, adding a bit...

I have definitely done that. And yes, the skins come out just the way we like 'em. Most of the time I just pop 'em in the oven to bake and do other things. But there are times that shorter cooking time comes in handy.

    Potato Recipes

Of course I knew the possibilities where endless. Chief Longrind of the North: For baking, I have always done the same thing... made a criss-cross cut in the top, but then squeeze it open. Of course never with foil. I don't know why that ever became a 'thing' for baking potatoes. But the...

    Potato Recipes

A few great ideas. I LOVE twice baked. Hectic holiday meals are a great time to do them (well any time is a great time)... make them ahead of time, heat the later. I like them with a little extra pepper and parmesan on top. I don't cut them in have (gluttons that we are). I make a slit in the...

    Potato Recipes

Sounds really good... seriously. But I don't use onion soup mixes... way too high in sodium. But definitely some good flavors there for potatoes.

    Potato Recipes

I'm a big fan of anything Trader Joe's. Unfortunately, I don't eat mushrooms. That really looks good though. No young kids with crazy schedules, so really no need for prepared foods. And I try to watch sodium content too. I admit to using them when the kids were young though. Great choice for...

    Parmesan Fried Zucchini

You could always try the corn meal instead of flour, but maybe do the flour and panko first. As for broiling, I wouldn't recommend that. You wouldn't be reducing the fat content. These are baked on a grate placed in a baking sheet, so certainly easier than broiling. Broiling would require...

    Parmesan Fried Zucchini

Yummy! Those have been on my list of things to try. Along the same line, try the crispy zucchini fries. I made those recently. The dipping sauce was mayo, lime and sriracha. And they were baked!!! So no fussing over frying. Super crispy and delicious. I think I might have posted a pic. under a...
