Roast them with olive oil, salt and pepper in a 400 degree oven. They are tasty and not wet. Roasting brings out the sweetness of the vegetables. I do this a lot.
I love my slow cookers and pressure cookers for different reasons. The pressure cooker gives you that tenderness you want in tough meats. Sometimes I'm just lazy and love the smell of food cooking for hours in the slow cooker. It depends on my mood.
I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer too but I also have the Kitchenaid hand mixer for quick jobs like you're looking for. It's pretty powerful and comfortable to use. It's easy to pull out for quick jobs.
Me either hi. I have no intention of replacing every 2-3 years. I like to get a good set of knives and roll with them. Like you say....to each their own. :-)
Chili and cornbread that I made last night. I tried a new chili recipe and it was awesome. I will be freezing individual packets in the next 2-3 days. In the meantime it needs to "season".
I agree with you justplainbill. Over the last year and a half I have purchased some really good knives individually. I do find I like my Santoku knives the best but the Chef's knives and utility knives and paring knives get used a lot too. I am very satisfied and sharpen my own knives.
