Hello!
Just wanted to introduce myself. I just came across this forum today and it looks like a great place to share and learn
I just started my own website for Cast Iron Skillet recipes and am scouring the web trying to get input from others on what types of recipes and information...
I use parchment paper...I tried the silicone and it just didn't work for me. I tried cookies on a silicone mat and they stuck and crumbled to pieces when I tried to get them off. Maybe I used a cheap brand?
You may have to season it a few times before it becomes "non-stick". The more you cook with it, the better it gets. You will most likely need some oil until the skillet becomes well seasoned.
I slice mine thick, coat them in seasoned flour, then egg, then seasoned bread crumbs. Fry them in a cast iron skillet with olive oil, enough to cover the bottom of the pan. Yum!
