Sounds reminiscent of 'Fleet Week' social engineering in New York City, 'back in the day'. That came to a screeching halt some 25 - 30 years ago when certain parties objected to the fleet inviting YOUNG ladies to socialize with members of the fleet.
We only have one oven and leave the Hearthkit on the second from bottom shelf most all of the time. Like your stove, Leo, but enjoy having an oven up more at eye level. How far are you from the good folks at Fort Riley?
I prefer a wall mounted electric oven. Baked goods come out better for me in an electric (non convection oven) and it's easier to peer in to see what's going on. I also prefer an electric cook top. Anyone who can cook on a coal or wood fired cook's stove should find cooking on electric quite...
Yes. I apply several coats of a mineral oil & paraffin mixture at 24 hour intervals. After the last application, I wrap the treated handles in dry film wax paper and store in a warm dry place for a month or more, turning weekly; then I unwrap and buff the handles to remove any remaining excess...
You might want to investigate the cost - benefit of using a stiffer and heavier metal lath. E.G.-

More of a procrastinator - planner who has to justify a fairly extensive collection of man toys. In this damp area (50 - 150 yards from salt water bodies on three sides), rust proofing of tools after each use often takes as long or longer than the task a tool was used for.
Assembled my new B&D Workmate 425 (made in China). I still have a 30 year old version of the workmate. The new one has some pluses and minuses compared to my old one. A lot of the parts on the old one, that were cast aluminum, have been replaced by plastic moldings or sheet metal stampings...
Glad to see you're up on most all of the aspects of your new house and that your area of New Mexico is not as hot as Hades,
In our area the well water eats up copper plumbing, but it takes decades to do so. The washerless ceramic disk faucet in our bathroom basin has not given us any problems...
Is that a boo boo on the lower left front (9 o'clock) of the slide [that holds the recoil spring plunger]?
Are there any concerns about the refinishing degrading the closeness of the slide to frame fit? Many, many moons ago; I bought a new 45ACP Colt Gold Cup for $125 at Emroe sporting goods...
If you get a chance it would be nice if you could tell us more about some of the planned features of your new home; E.G.:
Cellar / basement, high cellar (extending 3-5' above ground)?
Mud room?
Pantry?
Eat-in kitchen?
Evaporative cooling?
Fireplace?
Water supply source(s) and water treatment...
Laying off the cafe latte might be good idea. It's healthier to just eat the pistachios in the mortadella .
If you must drink caffe latte, consider having a few Nazionali sigarette as an antidote.
