    Makes sense ... yah ... I remember my mom's great banana and apple pancakes! I think the apple ones were my favorite ... cored sliced apple slices sautéed with the batter poured over them! Or those batter friend bananas with honey drizzled over them!

    Can I "Save" greasy rice ?

    Yah ... not sure WHY I used the slow cooker ... I guess just because I wanted to start it and forget it for tomorrows dinner ... but accidentally had it on HIGH. Chicken and Rice is so easy to make on top of the stove or oven. Learned something!

    I've heard from friends that "spanish" dishes often have a LOT of olive oil in them. But I've had rice and chicken at a Cuban restaurant and the rice was not heavy and oily. Yah, the chicken is still good ... THAT I can use in a lot of different ways! :-)

    Yesterday I tried making a cuban rice and chicken dish ... in a slow cooker ... using a brown rice, which I understand is a bit "chewier," so it should hold up to slow cooking better.
