    Reclining your seat when flying

I don't think its necessarily rude, but I try not to recline until the point of the flight where everyone is trying to sleep because I know how much it irritates me. If its a short haul flight however I don't see why you need to recline. Most chairs in peoples offices and homes don't recline...

    Birthday Cake Ideas?

I make a rainbow cake regularly, and I just cover it with plain butter icing. Everytime a new person sees it there is guaranteed to be a 'WOW' from the people who see it when it gets cut. The beauty of it is that it looks like any other cake or gateaux on the outside and then in all colourful...

Chocolate cake in a cup! Takes about 3 minutes (seriously)

I can agree with you on appearance!! Kinda looked like a slug when I did it. But I didn't have the flavour issue. :ermm:

    Baking book w/measurements by weight?

Buy British!! We don't really 'do' cups over here. Infact when I come across American recipes with cups it's quite an inconvenience because it means I have to dig my cups out of the back of a draw. Pretty much every baking book I have is in weights rather than cups (with the exception of two...

Chocolate cake in a cup! Takes about 3 minutes (seriously)

I found it needed eating straight from the microwave other wise it went quite rubbery. Is this the issue you had with it?

Chocolate cake in a cup! Takes about 3 minutes (seriously)

I was surprised to see this here. I first found out about this cake about 18 months ago while in Austria and it was perfect for when you wanted cake but didn't want to go to the shops to get it.

    Morton and Basset Vanilla Extract

I use the Nielsen Massey Vanilla extract, it's £5.51 here but one website claims it to cost $20 for the 118ml (4 oz) bottle. What makes vanilla so expensive there?:ermm:

    What is the best ...

Come home and forget about it (when everything went pear shaped back when I lived in Austria)

Having tea for the Royal Wedding?

The only reason I'll watch any of it is cos they've gone and made the day a bank holiday so most places will be closed... I really don't care about the wedding or the dress.... I'd quite like to see the cake but that seems to be the one part they aren't showing.

    Cake Pops

I can't see why it wouldn't work with chocolate, if you use bakers choc/covering choc as opposed to the expensive stuff it sets pretty hard anyway. I was planning on trying this also as I've not found a cheap way of getting candy melts either! :) To those who asked, a cake pop is essentially...

    Hello there!!

Hello all, I'm Natalie, I live in south Wales, I'm 21 and vegetarian. I study Bakery and Cake decoration at college, and love it! I love food, but baking is kinda my thing, people come to my house knowing there will be cake when they get here! In fact where I go cake usually comes with me.
