Can you pan pop microwave popcorn

The best yellow popcorn I've had was home grown by a friend's sister. I got a jar of it, but I don't recall how long after the harvest it was, not too long though. Had a natural sweetness to it I haven't tasted since. These days with a restricted diet I make popcorn in the microwave in a bowl...

    Cuisinart 7 cup Pro Classic

I suspect it should work well, more concerned about blade to bowl height and the durability of the plastic bowl. I'm the dishwasher so that's one reason I like a small unit that's easy to use and clean up. My big processor is fine, just lots of parts get dirty just to use it for small things...

    Cuisinart 7 cup Pro Classic

Yes, I have been giving alternatives thought. The Ninja regular processor might be ok, but the Cuisinart design is what I want. I'm only looking to replace the 2 cup Oskar because I'd like a larger bowl, and a dedicated pulse switch. The other major consideration is it has to fit in a...

    Cuisinart 7 cup Pro Classic

The one I'm looking at is the "old style" with the paddle switch and still comes with the flat top. They claim a 600w motor. I don't really care about the chute as I don't think I'd ever use any of the slicing or shredding functions. I don't use any of that stuff on my big one anymore...

    Bamix

Thank you. Do you use the S blade meat/ veg cutter? I'd be really interested in your experiences/ results with it as that will be the bulk of what I'll be doing with it in the next few months.

    Bamix

I've looked at those, Robo Coupe, and Bamix. I can get the Bamix from a company that I like doing business with. I don't know anyone who used a smaller size immersion blender in a commercial setting so I can't get any advice there. I take it you're happy with your unit.

    Bamix

That sounds like a Bamix. Was the shaft permanently attached, but the cutters were removable? What you are describing is pretty much exactly why I was looking at that brand. Instead of a bell covering the blade the Bamix has 4 prongs as a guard. Even though the wattage ratings are much...

    Bamix

Anyone own one of these? I have questions. I have to run now, but wanted to get my question out there. Thanks. I have no idea why it's italicized, it won't go away...

Has anyone bought or used one the current versions on the market, the DLC-10SYP1 ? I've searched reviews, but they aren't helpful for what I want to use it for. Buying on line and not seeing it first is my only option. I only want it to use it with the S blade, and the flat cover ( if it...

Thanks Aunt Bea. That brought back some memories.

    Baking Sheet Recommendation

Stainless steel steam table insert pans. Restaurants often use them as baking pans. Available in various depths, I think 2 1/2" is the most shallow.

    Scenes from the Past...

I certainly do. Too bad the price isn't visible, then I could narrow down the year. I first saw it at 39 cents/ pound.

What can I do with a cast iron griddle except for pancakes?

In addition to all the uses above, the one I have also makes a perfect cast iron lid for my cast iron frying pan. I can use them like a small dutch oven for braising and roasting.

    Flavoring My Morning Oatmeal

For breakfast this morning I had a bowl of left-overs, oat groats and onion soup. Very good and very satisfying on such a cold damp morning.

Kitchen "Candy" ~ Or, Look What I Just Got!

The Rada chef's knife is one of my most recommended knives to people who are just looking for an easy to maintain, inexpensive knife. It works as well as most of the people I know want. I use it most often for the one quick job. If we have company I and the guest wants to be in the kitchen...
