    Pickling peppers?

I appreciate everyone's concerns about how I canned the peppers. Just to let everyone know, I threw out what I had put in there just in case something wasn't right awhile back. Everything sealed fine for me, but I had let the jars cool. We will see how this next years crop turns out. I...

Can I make battered baked fish?

Thank you everyone for your replies. I guess if I want to use that batter, then I'll have to fry it. Oh well, we will be bad for one day. Tonight I got home late from work and was just hungry, so I went ahead and made the old standby with lemon juice and a cheese mixture on top baked...

Can I make battered baked fish?

This may sound like an odd question. I am getting tired of the same old recipe for tilapia that I make. Basically it is the parmesean/mayo based and very good, but looking for something different. I recently came across a recipe for beer battered fish like captain d's or long john silvers...

    Strawberry bread

I am glad you posted this. One of my husbands customers gave us some strawberries. They are sitting in the fridge now just waiting for me to do something with them. This recipe sounds perfect for tomorrow. Thanks.

    Freezing Yeast biscuits

I'm glad you posted this question. I have been craving bread lately, but just don't want to go to the trouble to make it every time I want it. I had wondered about freezing, but didn't want to ruin a batch of it. I figured it was possible, but just wasn't sure if it would work for me.

    Favorite spice?

I'm not exactly herb and spice savvy, but if I had to choose one it would be cinnamon also. It smells so good. Sometimes I will just sprinkle some in a pan and let it simmer on the stove in the wintertime. Makes the whole house smell good. Sometimes I will do that with vanilla too.

    GLAD Ovenware is Oven Scare!

Let me share my gladware story: (only this one was my fault) I've only used it a few times to bake lasagna in. This last time I ruined our dinner, but it was my own doing. I placed a piece of foil over the top of it for the first 30 minutes of baking and then forgot to take off the foil for...

Can I cook bacon on George Foreman grill?

We used the foreman grill a few days ago to make BLT sandwiches. It worked really well, you just have to have patience. We only have a small one I bought several years ago, so it took a while to fry them up. If we had the big one, then it would have been a lot faster. Plus the dog made out...

    Oyster Cracker Munchies!

Hmm, do you think spraying the crackers in a bowl with Pam or some type of cooking spray first would help the seasonings stick? I may have to try this. The recipe sounds really good.

    Reheatables?

We've only fried our wontons trying to make the crab rangoon like you get at chinese restaurants. Even at that it is only a once or twice a year thing. I try not to fry too many things as we need to watch our waistlines. I never really thought about using them for other things...

    Reheatables?

Quick question about the wonton ravioli. Do you fry it, or can they be boiled and then put sauce over them? This sounds really good and we have some leftover wonton wrappers in the fridge. Thanks.

    Whats Better Than Leftover Pizza?

LOL, every once in a while, we will go to the Chestnut Festival in Evansville IN. They always advertise the deep fried twinkies and fried snickers (i think it is snickers). I had always heard they were really good and I just had to HAVE one. I'm not much on a lot of fried foods anyway, but I...
