Does anyone have any creative ideas for decorating a cake? I've seen some recipes where people use actual roses but they do something to them (frost them or something, not sure) and put it on cakes etc....but it's still not edible coz of the pesticide. I was thinking of getting some roses...

I don't know too much about cooking so I was wondering if I can substitute skim milk for regular full cream milk in a cake recipe? And if so, should I add anything else to the recipe to make up for the lack of texture/flavour? I only have skim milk in the fridge :(
