I don't think there are any regulations in Indiana. We have bake sales often at church. We are doing it in a commercial kitchen NOT in peoples homes.
We will be using household mixers. The kitchen is nice and big but only the ovens and one of the reach-ins are commercial equipment. No large...
I am in charge of a Christmas cookie fundraiser this year for our youth group at church.
The youth did this several years ago but those leaders moved away and I don't have much back up information about how they did things. Many members of the congregation have requested this fundraiser again...
I'll try to answer these and the other questions posted.
Equipment: We have a full commercial cooking kitchen in our banquet hall. Two full size deep fryers (I'm guessing using one for fish only and the other for fries or hushpuppies), we have chaffing dishes with racks, plates, etc...
Our church is considering hosting a fish fry on Good Friday. The problem is none of us have ever been part of the planning of one.
Can anyone give us some instructions, tips, links to directions and recipes, etc?

If you belong to a warehouse club like Sams, check out the price on their mini croissants. I often buy those instead of the canned cresents. I think they're cheaper.

There will be bowls of chips. I forgot to mention that before.
Do you think I should have a "hot" vegetable? I wasn't planning on it since I have the veggie trays but now I'm wondering if I should have one......

I think your menu sounds fun and different from the same menu party after party. I would stick with the nacho/taco bar idea. It will go over great with teens. What part of Indiana will it be in? I may have to stop by

My menu is actually one of the smallest of the parties I've been to over the past few years. It's crazy the amounts of food people put out. I will probably keep the pasta as dd really wants it but might drop the bbq pork. I'll drop the dinner rolls, they were kind of an afterthought anyway. I...
My dd is graduating from HS and her party is June 10th. I think there will be about 100 guests, open house style. My menu is listed below. Please feel free to give suggestions. I really need to know how much I will need. I'm getting the food from local vendors but not all the same place. I...
1 2-3lb pot roast
1 envelope of good seasons italian dressing mix
1 jar of pepperoncini's hot or mild with juice
Put it all in the crockpot for 8-10 hours on low, shredd the meat, and wow! Great italian beef! Gets raves every time I make it.
I'm making lasagna on the weekend for DH's bday. I'm making the sauce today and I'm trippling the batch because I'm making two pans of lasagna and we always like extra sauce.
#1. The recipe called for a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes. I picked up three cans without realizing that one of the...
Could I do this with puff pastry? I hate trying to work with phyllo.
I like all the ideas, especially an antipasto platter. There will only be about 12 people and dinner will be buffet style and casual so I don't want to fill everyone up too much. Thanks for all the great ideas!
