Thats probably right, and my family never uses knives, maybe i should invest in a new knife?

I thought this was cool, for some reason my family lacks knives lol, so i was forced to make a salad with a bread knife, and WOW i found it ALOT easier to slice through a cucumber with a bread knife than a chef knife, maybe because my chef knife is dull? With Romaine lettuce and there were white spots on the stem when i cut it open, and the lettuce was a little like brown and weird looking on the top but i cut it off, should i eat it or be grossed out and throw it away?
