This is for all the folks who have been waiting for the Twinkie/twinkey cookbook; it is available at Michaels for about $14. Darn it is too expensive for a joke gift.
If you will all pitch in for the cost of the meal, I'll pay for my own flight and hotel to eat it and to report back. That would only be about $5 from each member.
Thanks guys!!!
Smoked turkey is already cooked and in a sealed bag should be fine; however, I would cut it up, repackage and freeze it today. Remember when you remove it from the freezer again to eat it that day. I know refreezing changes some in texture but at least you will have delicious smoked turkey...
Crisco is a hydrogenated vegetable oil usually soybean in the US. You can sub with any veg. oil shortening, oleo or butter. Depending what you are amking the texture might be different. Crisco makes cripier cookies. Cakes you will not notce a difference as long as the sub is 100% fat. Oleo is...
Budron.... You lucky duck! I love flavored oils. Use them on meats, vegetables, salads, fruit, bread, etc. They are very expensive and a little goes along way. A sprinkle on vegetables instead of butter is wonderful. Yum!

I would use butter. Cost was the factor in the 50s and 60s but butter has a better flavor and no transfat. Oleo is almost 50% wateer now and called spread.
A wonderful glaze for this time of year is cranberry sauce. You can use homemade or canned but very nice with ham. There are some gourmet mustards out that are flavored and a favorite of my family is the cranberry. Orange marmalade makes a wonderful glaze too. If you serve with biscuits, orange...
I have been making and dipping truffles for many years. You can use the same recipe for wht choc and milk choc. but use only 1 C cream or the centers will be too soft.
