    another quick trick is to let some vanilla bean haagan daaz melt in room temp and put a tbsp melted onto plate before pear. I cook everything from scratch, so dont tell anyone bout this one ;-)

    melt sugar until brown,add 1/4 tsp of cinamon and stir in, make sugar thread, form into golf ball size while still warm. set aside. get rid of lemon curd, and make a zabaglione or other creme sauce serve pear on top and place sugaroff side of pear, lovely!

    I freeze on a cookie sheet, no plastic, just until1/2 frozen and glazed over. then put directly into a frezzer ziplock bag, seal up all but little hol, and press out air, then seal up all the way.     My favorite eggplant dish is roasted eggplant until it is soft, and smashing it up with lemon and tahini, and some sea salt!!! I am going to the store now!!!!

    Weird foods from your childhood

    My mom made us homemade white bread sandwiches with peanut butter smeared on one side, and mayonnaise on the other. on the p.b. she put and american cheese slice, and some lettuce. I still love them, just eat em more seldomly!

    How do you know what herbs/spices go with what foods?

    Spork, great insight! My favorite herbs are: basil, which goes well with tomatoes, eggplant, thai and vietnamese soups, and salads. Fresh cilantro, also goes great with tomatoes, chilies, I like using it with fish and lemon. mmm, thyme is really good, I love it in chicken or fish recipes...
