Curiously, none of you have really described how it actually tastes! I've seen it in some local Asian markets. And I've also seen products flavored on it in these same markets. And yes, I'm curious. But how does it taste? :ermm:

A friend of mine told me a story of how sushi was first "invented." There was a typhoon on one of the Japanese islands, and they couldn't light fires for their cooking. So the natives decided to just go ahead and eat their fish raw. Not sure how true this is, though!

I also love cheese. I try to experiment with them as much as possible. I especially love smoked cheeses, like smoked gouda and smoked mozzerrella. I like brie, I like provolone, I like swiss, I like chedder (not too sharp, though). Heck, I even tried limberger, once!

What's your favorite fast food restaurant? Or to put this another way, what fast food restaurant are you most willing to tolerate? Mine is Arbys. I love their roast beef sandwiches and their jamocha milkshakes.

How do all of you feel about artificial flavoring in your foods? I'll tolorate it if it's in candy, but if it's in anything else, I'll avoid it!

Actually, I use fructose simply because I like the flavor of it, not because I'm on a diet. But thanks for the info.

This is a sugar substitute derrived naturally from corn. I like it because it has a "cooler" taste than regular sugar. But in the last few years, it seems to have vanished from many stores. And I've seen net rumors that it's bad for your health! So can any of you tell me something about this?

Technically, near-beers contain less than 1/2% alcohol in them, at least that's what their labels say. I don't drink them to avoid alcohol per se, just for the taste difference. I seem to recall that Swiss near-beer's name was Birelle.
