If you created a 5 buck meatball, what would be in it???

just one meatball eh? pork and veal mixed with sautéed onion and garlic, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, dry mustard, salt and pepper... I'd roll the meatball in flour and brown evenly in hot pork fat in a small Le Creuset cocotte or Dutch oven. Once nice and brown I'd remove the meatball and set...

Need help to buy a pizza stone for a large pizza for less than 10 Canadian $ !!

I don't have a peel, so what I use is a large cookie sheet with an open end (i.e., no lip at one end.) It works like a charm both to slide the pizza onto the stone and to retrieve the cooked pizza from the oven. I prepare the cookie sheet as one would a peel and as Andy M described G

Fruit n' nuts on your cereal?

The breakfast I enjoy at least 5 days a week is hot oatmeal either the regular (not instant or quick) rolled oats or the steel cut oats, I always have both on hand. My standard add-ins/toppings are: blueberries, chopped walnuts, unflavoured natural yoghurt, and cinnamon. To these I always add...

If you have a full size oven you want a large pizza stone. A toaster oven is a countertop appliance with a much smaller oven. G

Need help to buy a pizza stone for a large pizza for less than 10 Canadian $ !!

I'm sure you have Zehrs or Zehrs Superstore in Toronto and the GTA... I recall seeing pizza stones there in the $10-$12 range. I also believe that IKEA has them. All else fails, open up the yellow pages and look up the list of kitchen/restaurant supply stores in the GTA, I'm sure there are...

So I want to try lamb...

I second the advice given by GB and Katie E as regards having it in a very good restaurant first before attempting to cook it yourself. A popular entrée in many good restaurants is rack of lamb (divine when done properly), or lamb loin or rib chops. If you have Bistros in your area they might...
