Hi y'all, been awhile since I have been on here but got caught up on this thread. I still have the gallon jar of kraut that I made in the fridge and it turned out wonderful. I have been using it to make my favorite sammich, the rueben. Thank you so much for your help. I definantly didn't can...

Need help finding a Paul Prudhomme butter bean recipe

That is exactly the way they did those dove breasts. Seasoned them with beau monde seasoning, wrapped bacon, and grilled. Thought I would loose my mind......wait a tic.....wasn't this a butter bean thread just a little while ago?

Need help finding a Paul Prudhomme butter bean recipe

LOL Hi Ladycook, dove is actually wonderfully succulent and flavorfull. The first time I ever tried seasoned and grilled dove breast I immediatley went out and bought a shotgun. Blackbird on the other hand isn't so hot. I thought my girlfriend had just messed up the dove recipe. When I learned...

Need help finding a Paul Prudhomme butter bean recipe

Hi Auntdot, The butter beans that drive you crazy recipe had practically the entire animal kingdom in there. Ham, chicken, duck, andouille, and one other one that I can't remember now. This one turned out pretty dang good though. My girlfriend is from "down the bayou" so I always respect...

Need help finding a Paul Prudhomme butter bean recipe

Well hey there Uncle Bob! I swear, some people just don't know what is good. LOL j/k I printed out the recipe online and I noticed that in the cooking directions that it omits the sugar called for in the list of ingredients so I knew something was up. Then I noticed that the recipe says it came...

Food you wouldn't put in your mouth.

I was curious because I saw Alton Brown eat a big ole brain sammich on one of his shows and at first he didn't seem to like it much but then he acted like he did (kinda). Jim

Need help finding a Paul Prudhomme butter bean recipe

I checked there too Andy. I know it has to be out there somewhere. Spoke to my Mother the other day about it. She remembers making it but doesn't know what she did with the recipe. I may have to make a trip to his restaraunt to inquire. Thanx for looking. Jim

ISO help making homemade brown sugar

Processed sugar is simply sugar that has had the molasses extracted out of it. Molasses is a byproduct of that process. I am not sure I understand why you would want to purchase refined sugar, then purchase molasses to recombine them again. That being said, I do know some sugar producers...

Need help finding a Paul Prudhomme butter bean recipe

Hi All, My Mother use to make a Paul Prudhomme recipe called, "Butter Beans That Drive You Crazy" and it was soooooooooooooooooooooooo good. I have all of his cookbooks except his newest one and the recipe is none of those. Any Paul Prudhomme fans out there that might have this recipe in...

    Spicy Homemade Breakfast Sausage

Hey GB, I had always heard that MSG manipulates the brain chemistry but that might have been propaganda from the tofu fartin earth muffins I use to hang around with in my 20's. Jim

    Microwave Hollandaise Sauce

Hi DrThunder, I am guessing the recipe calls for salted butter because it is a quick sauce that can be made with minimal time and fuss. That being said, I am sure unsalted could be used and adjusted to taste. Jim

    Spicy Homemade Breakfast Sausage

Hey Bknox, Sorry it has been awhile since I have been on here. I am not sure if the MSG is a big part of it but I would think it would be. From what I know about MSG, it kinda fools the brain into thinking that something tastes better than what it actually does. Please let me know if you try...

Fricassée De Patate Anglaise Et Andouille

Would like to back up bknox's suggestion. This doesn't have to be spicy to be good but you can always add a little extra cayenne if you are using a different style of sausage. Jim

    Microwave Hollandaise Sauce

Some people spend their time worrying about cooking, others just spend their time enjoying cooking....and eating. Nuff said. I have never seen a food processor version. Would love to see it. Jim
