    That is what I thought. I remember seeing that pointed scoop on a Pittsburgh Places show but was not able to find one on internet. I wonder if it could of been used to fill the bottom of a cone? I paid $1 for it at an estate sale and they said it was an ice cream scoop from Isley's

    The people at the sale thought it was an ice cream scoop from Isley's I saw a Pittsburgh Places show on public TV and remember them using a long pointed spoon/scoop to make the rocket or mile high cone(forget the name)

    It almost has the quality of a medical instrument. The cone half's come together before the protrusions meet.

    I did have an idea of what it could be from the sale, but did not want to give it away at first and influence the answers. Isley's ice cream scoop? I thought they used a long pointed spoon or paddle for their tall cones and could not find any info on this. A google search did not help and yahoo...

    This came in a box of stuff from an estate sale and I think it might be a cooking gadget but I am not sure. It is about 8" in overall length, Cone is 4" x 2" and made of stainless steel. No name or markings on it. Thanks Marty :biggrin:
