    Icing for Christmas cookies

If you're interested in something a little different try this icing, with or without the orange (which gives it a subtle flavor). The egg white makes it harden nicely which makes it good for cookies you plan to ship. Orange Frosting Grated rind 1 orange 1/2 tsp lemon juice 1 Tbs orange juice 1...

    Easy Calorie Counter on Web?

Apparently, only people who have been here for awhile can post websites, so I can't post the one I recommend. But I can tell you it is called Sparkpeople and it starts with a www and ends with a dot com. You can track everything here--calories, nutrients, exercise. It can be overwhelming but...

    Hi, new to posting

Thanks! What a surprise to get so many welcoming comments! By the way, I noted before that there seemed to be a lot of professional cooks here but that was until I saw "assistant cook" under my name and realized it was the title for people who haven't posted much. Duh!

    Excess pumpkin

I've baked pumpkin, mashed it and frozen it. The texture is a little different and it wasn't in my freezer for very long (a few weeks maybe) but it was great in soup! Hope you find a way to preserve yours.

    Your favorite cheese

Homemade ricotta or smoked provolone, though I'm really not picky when it comes to cheese!

    Freezing bread dough?

I have my Thanksgiving meal pretty much planned but haven't figured out how to make the rolls. I've looked online a little and it seems like I can shape them and freeze them prior to the second rise. Has anyone does this? Is the flavor still okay? Any recommendations about recipes that should...

    Hi, new to posting

Thought I'd say hi, I've read some of the threads but this is the first time I'm posting. I've decided to sign up because I have a specific question (that I'll post elsewhere) but also just wanted to say hi. It seems like there are a number of professionals here, but I'm not one of them. I live...
