What do you cook when it's too hot to turn the oven on?

I avoid the oven on days like that. I cook stovetop, crock pot, or the Foreman grill. There's always take-out.

    Quick Cookies(TNT)

I clipped that recipe from a newspaper many years ago and made it tons of times. My recipe doubles everything and doesn't make individual cookies, but splits the dough in half and press into two 1/2 in thick circles, then prick them with a fork. Summer is here

We're also having a few days of gorgeous weather. However, it's never safe to start planting here until after Memorial Day. We'll have more frost for sure. But....it's just around the corner.

    help with traveling side dishes

I'm helping to bring meals to a family who can't do cooking right now. When I did this another time I had trouble thinking of side dishes that re-heated well the next day so I usually ended up sending a fresh tossed salad. I have no problem with the main meal, just the sides. Any suggestions?

Use & Care of Cast Iron Cookware

My only question - I thought you NEVER use soap on cast iron. If I'm wrong, I would love to hear about it. I clean mine with hot water only and lightly coat with Crisco.
