    Roaster Oven Question

I have used my roaster to cook a large bird (22 lb). It did brown nicely, which was probably due to the longer cooking time. It is my new favorite appliance. It frees up the oven for all of those other dishes.

    The Littlest Turkey!

marmalady: I've had those lil' butterballs quite. They are a great little turkey. Butterball puts alot of butter under the skin and there is usually alot of it in the cavity and all over the outside of the bird. Be sure to wipe a good part of it off or it will come out pretty messy. Good...

Who makes their own pasta? I need your help!

I don't use semolina flour in my pasta dough because it is too dry. It is probably ok to use for a tubular pasta or a shell but I wouldn't use it for sheets of dough. I agree with you about the ravioli attachment. It was just a waste of money for me. I only use flour, eggs, and a little...

Pork-must have some ratings- or does it``

I worked as a meat clerk for many years for a small supermarket chain. There are some very good brands out there. Hormel and Armour have very good pork. Ask your meat cutter what brand you are buying. If you like it, stick with it. If not try another market that usually carries a different...

Are There Any Recipes You've Lost or Would Like to Have???

My mom used to make a bbq beef. I think she picked it up when she was living in Oklahoma around 1950. She would roast a 7-bone chuck roast and make the sauce on top of the stove. Then she would pull apart the beef and put it in the sauce. It had a ketchup base and also had onions and vinegar...

Timing roasts in a stoneware baker

I need help. I know that they say cooking time is reduced in a stoneware baker. My question is how short is the cooking time. I want to cook a bone-in rib end pork roast in mine. I would usually cook it for about 30 minutes a pound in a conventional roasting pan. That means for a 6 1/2...
