    Your user name..

I've taken to using a theme for my screen names. I used to use a nickname that I gave to my mother, and added jr. to it. I've used that one for so long, I just tired of it. Now, I have a trio of screen names, which are a first name that you probably would have heard "back in the day" and a...

How many cars in your driveway?

We have two. I worked when we were married, and my husband has always sold cars. That means not only do we get a good deal, but he works 12 hour days. And with two children, I'm not driving out at 9pm at night to pick him up at work. I do however try to plan my trips to be more...

    Bread machines- who has one?

just fyi... I found vital wheat gluten in my local grocery store (Redners) and the local natural foods mart (David's Natural Foods). I was kind of surprised to find it in the grocery store. I'm not certain, but I may have even seen it in the SuperFresh. The natural food place is just one of...

    No kids, how come?

Almost as soon as I was out of my wedding dress, I was ready for kids. I literally had that "longing" feeling. I went through a miscarriage, but a year and a half after our wedding, my son was born. Two years and twelve days later, I had my daughter. The direct result of another "longing". To...

    Bread machines- who has one?

I've never figured out if there is a savings or not, but for me personally, there just is nothing like the smell of bread baking and the pride in feeding my kids bread I baked for them, even though I eat most of the bread. I do both, bread machine and stand mixer/oven bread. I also buy...

    Bread machines- who has one?

I had a breadman I think a couple of years ago... used a couple dozen times, then... zip. nothing. For some reason I got a burr up my bum to get another bread machine (*my husband was simply thrilled..). This time I got the Zojirushi.. and so far, I love it! My main reasons for...

Reasonably priced cookware that is of very good quality.....

I hope I'm not repeating what someone else said... *too much ADD not enough focus to read the other posts completely. lol* I research everything, especially my kitchen stuffs. That said, As far as a food processor, anything Cuisinart will make you happy. Picking the size is the confusing part...

    All Clad alternatives

From what research I've done, Calphalon Tri-Ply seems to be the next best thing. It's still pricey, but not All Clad pricey. I'm about to start adding some new pieces and plan to pick up the Calphalon TP. Admittedly, I want something All Clad, just to say I have one. lol

    Nonstick cookware maintenance

I have no mercy on my non stick, warm soapy water all the way! It's my cast iron and pampered chef stones that get hot water and some form of scrubber on them, no soap.

    Belgian vs classic waffles...

This is my first post aside from my intro so forgive me if it's in the wrong area. Is there a difference when using waffle recipes in either a Belgian waffle iron versus a classic iron? I have a Belgian waffle iron that I LOVE. I have a recipe that makes perfect Belgian waffles. However, my...

    Hi everybody

I'm a stay at home mom to two very ornery kids, and have been married for 9 years. My youngest is heading to Kindergarten this fall  (how'd that happen??) and will have plenty of free time to finally be the chef I knew I was. Maybe not but I'm dying to learn new, different, and...
