    What drink to order at 5-star restaurant

    I would probably have a nice, appropriate wine with dinner and a scotch or aged rum as a digestif.

    TropicCh3f, I had St. Nicholas Abbey for the first time in October and loved it. The only problem with this rum is availability. As far as I know, you can only buy it from the distillery in Barbados. It's worth the trip, though!!!

    I like the Pyrat XO, but the Pyrat Pistol is just too flowery for me. If you like smooth, sweet rums, Ron Zacapa 23 may also be of interest. It's widely available and should run about $50 a liter.

    I have heard that screw tops are the best, but they just look and feel so cheap.

    Treasure Island is famous for that drink (Mandalay Bay has them too.) I've tried to figure out the formula at home and it never works out (always tastes flat.) The closest I've come is with a regular rum and coke, but use lots of shaved ice instead of cubes. A dash of bitters and live wedge...

    Cork, composite or plastic?

    It may be one of the new variety made of recycled (chipped) rubber. They have the look and feel of a corrk cork and I've been seeing alot of them latley. At least it wasn't a screw top, which many wineries are going to these days.

    Zaya is really nice rum. Another from Trinidad that you may enjoy is Angostura 1919. Great for drinking neat or with an ice cube or two.
