Bread machine v. kneaded by hand

I found a bread machine at a yard sale today for 5 bucks. It had all the parts, and I found the manual online - I might be encouraged to make more bread now that the hard work is taken care of. Just have to go to the store and buy some yeast - I only have the rapid rise stuff in the three...

What's for Dinner Friday April 24th?

We're having mexican rice casserole. It's awesome - and bonus is it's cheap to make too. It was made yesterday, intended for dinner last night - but it didn't happen. The flavours will have had plenty of time to intensify - so hopefully it will taste even better today!

What did your parents do for Budget Friendly Meals?

I make quesadillas that way when I'm travelling, and don't want/will be too late for room service. Pack a tortilla and some cheese and wrap it in foil, and keep it cool (if you can). When you arrive in your hotel - get the iron out and and instant quesadilla!!

What did your parents do for Budget Friendly Meals?

What is SOS? I've been coming up with some really random ideas in my head for what it could be... but nothing seems to fit. Please put me out of my misery!!! I grew up in a single parent family, so we ate cheaply too. I remember a lot of meatballs and spaghetti, but I don't actually...

What's for Dinner Wednesday April 22?

I've made Chicken Pot Pie for my hubby to eat while I go to work tonight. I made a bit extra so I can freeze the filling and just top it with biscuits whenever I need a quick dinner on the table. I blogged about it - if you want to check it out!

Bread machine v. kneaded by hand

I think I'd like a breadmachine - but wonder if that might take all the fun out of breadmaking for me. I have a KA mixer with a dough hook - but don't feel it does as good of a job as I do by hand. What do you guys think? Buy a breadmaker?

    ISO Pasta Maker suggestions

Do you have a kitchenaid mixer? I highly recommend the pasta plate attachment that you can get for it!

    KitchenAid vs Cuisinart Appliances

I have a KA professional 6qt mixer, and I have a KA food processor as well. I wouldn't trade my mixer for the world, but the food processor can be interchanged with the Cuisinart with little difference. Except mine match each other - and that's cool to me!!

    What to grow in Phoenix?

It's hot here already, and I was hoping to grow some herbs this year (just in pots, not in the ground). Has anyone had success with this, or have suggestions as to what grows best here? I'm new to the desert climate - and already suffering in the 99 degree heat in APRIL.

How Do You Store/Save Your Recipes?

I use a recipe box for the "tried and true" recipes that I will make again. They are all on my computer though, and my recipe cards are typed. Recipes I have not yet made are stored in word documents with a link to wherever I found it, or a cookbook I got it from so I can credit it properly if...

    K/A Stand Mixer

I love my KA stuff - and one of the biggest drawcards for me buying that brand is because their customer support is awesome. Let us know how it works out?

    Today's Dinner - Tax Day, April 15th

I have a pile of leftover pulled pork - so I'm going to mess with it a bit, and make it into taquitos, with some fiesta rice.

    Introducing..... USA Kiwi

Hi there I'm new to the forum, and just wanted to say hello. I'm from New Zealand, but moved to AZ a few years ago. I cook allllll the time. My bedtime reading is recipe books (sad, but true). I'm interested in expanding my repetoire to include canning - but I'm scared - so hope I can get...
