What's the deal with these cookies being flat?

I'm so happy. I got the cookies to work. I'll post a picture later. I used 1 cup of butter crisco instead of butter and they are beautiful. Tho my daughter's friend was here and she said it was her touch (she was here the first time I baked these).

What's the deal with these cookies being flat?

I think my oven is the issue. I baked sugar cookies tonight (iced with bobcat paws) for the high school football game (13 yr old son plays in the marching band) and when I set the oven to the correct degree by the thermometer, the cookies turned out perfect!! I'm going to cook these cookies...

Apple*Tart- would you give me your recipe for

I baked these and they were cake-like. They do have a good taste tho. I think all the moisture in the canned pumpkin is the reason why they are cake-like. I wonder if I cut the canned pumpkin to 1/2 cup instead of 1 cup would make them less cake-like?

Apple*Tart- would you give me your recipe for

I think he has figured out this is hard for me and he's going to love having all his favorite foods. The ones that I found also were cake-like cookies too and I'd prefer a cookie not cake-like. I may try and do some experimenting tho I'm not very good at it. I'll let you know what happens.

What's the deal with these cookies being flat?

Nope. I buy large eggs. I made the dough, cooked 1 set (8 cookies) right away, they went flat. Chilled the dough, cooked 1 set, went flat. Chilled dough, cooked 1 set at 350 degrees, went flat.

What's the deal with these cookies being flat?

Thank you for this information. I will print this out and keep it for future use. I decided that tomorrow I'm going to go buy fresh and name brand ingredients and rebake the cookies. I'm determined to get these cookies to bake the way they did the first time because they were the best cookies.

What's the deal with these cookies being flat?

I'm not sure. I buy name brand and non-name brand items. The first time I baked the cookies, I was not baking a lot. It's quite possible that I used Land O lakes butter and the other times I've had non-name brand butter. I did put the batter into the fridge and baked one batch (8 cookies)...
