    Buying new cookware..

I didn't even bother to check where the set at Walmart was from, I wasn't looking as a buyer. I agree that pots and pans don't have to last a lifetime, when nothing else does. I think the cookware set at Walmart looks great and it is absurd to pay $200.00 for one pan when you can purchase a...

    Help...burnt my best pot

I always heard soaking in hot water and baking soda would do the trick. Fill half the pot with water, add 3-4 tablespoons of baking soda and bring to a boil, turn off the heat, let it soak for 30 minutes. If after that you still have some black spots, use Bar Keepers Friend (for stainless steel...

    Buying new cookware..

I gave my opinion right after the question was asked, but I have to add one last comment. I didn't think it would be fair to say anything else about because I really don't know if the quality of the Tramontina cookware sold at Walmart is the same as the one I have. I've known Tramontina as one...

    What are you baking today?

To make it easier for my daughters when they live for classes in the morning, I baked Banana Nut Muffins, instead of a whole cake, I also omit the nuts, the girls don't like them.

How do I keep the pepper dry?

I remember seeing grains of rice in salt shakers. Maybe that would work for pepper also.

    Wedding Cake flavoring and scaling?

Do you think it would be ok for you to sprinkle the cake with simple syrup flavored with Amaretto? This way you would be adding flavor and moisture at the same time. I am just suggesting this because I always sprinkle the cakes I bake with syrup flavored with rum.

    Buying new cookware..

CharlieD, you have to know that Tramontina is not a Walmart brand. I don't know about the cookware sets they sell, but like I said earlier, I have a Tramontina set, wasn't purchased at Walmart, but still perfect after five years of being used just about everyday.

    ISO top of stove baker

Have you tried checking on Ebay or on Amazon? I always think it is amazing what you can find when you add a simple word like "antique" or "vintage".

    Help with Stuffed Chicken Rolls

I believe the rolls were overcooked, that's all I can think happened, because I kept the skin on, or removed the skin but before tied in a roll replaced the skin. I seared because I like the golden color it adds. Andy M. you are right the sauce I made in the pan was delicious. Thank you so much...

    Buying new cookware..

Hi! I didn't buy my cookware at Walmart, although I too, always shop there, but I have Tramontina TriPly-Clad, purchased five years ago. I love all of them! I don't have problems with burning or sticking, everything cooks evenly, it can be taken from stove top to oven anytime. After five years...

    Help with Stuffed Chicken Rolls

I prepared Stuffed Chicken Rolls for our Sunday dinner. It was very tasty but I found it to be quite dry. I used chicken breasts, cut them open and pound them to become thinner. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Prepared a stuffing: fried a few pieces of bacon, set it aside. In olive oil I sauteed...

    Corn on the cob

I use a knife and a bundt pan. Place the corn on top of the funnel of the bundt pan, usinfg the knife remove the kernels, the pan will catch them all. I have a gadget that wasn't very expensive, it is suposed to adjust to the different thickness of the cob but it really doesn"t work that great.

TNT pumpkin spice cupcakes with caramel frosting.

Sarah, I finally baked the cupcakes today. They are delicious! I have to tell you though, I used a different recipe for the glaze (daughter doesn't like peanut butter). I mixed 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1 T of butter, 2 T simple syrup, boiled those ingredients and mixed in 1/2 c of powdered sugar...

    What apples for pie?

I do the same mixture as Michael in FtW (maybe it is a texan thing), I use Granny Smith and Golden Delicious, one holds its shape best, the other is more soft, and again while one is tart the other is sweet.
