    many thanx You're right,Selkie-I went ahead and used the cook-type along with the dry ingredients in a pseudo-pound cake, and when finished, the middle was not quite done in spite of baking 15 min. longer than suggested.

    Amish cake recipe calls for instant pudding mix; I have on hand cooked pudding mix. can I substitute one for the other? Thanx. I hope I can figure out how to view the answer--I'm nearly computer illiterate
