    Mollyanne, I figured that must be it. Everything I've seen around the web says you need to bake it or boil it first. I skipped that step thinking it didn't matter, I was most wrong. Do you have any idea why that step is necessary? What does baking it do to the pumpkin flesh? thanks! deltoid
