    Knife or Food Processor?

Thanks for the quick replies ladies. Can I ask what you you use it most for? Maybe I've just been making my life harder for the past 25 years or so

    Knife or Food Processor?

Does anyone here not use a Food Processor? I've been cooking for years and cook most days for my family but I'm wondering if I'm the only one who really doesn't use an FP. I had an FP for years that just sat in my cupboard which I eventually donated because I chop everything with a knife. I...

    Need new roasting pan

Thanks! I think I'll get a cast iron dutch oven but also a large cast iron roast pan to do the big roasts with vegetables.

    Need new roasting pan

Thanks plainbill... I did some Googling and looks like they don't sell Lisk in Australia. So far it's the Le Crueset (thanks Leolady!).

    Need new roasting pan

Hi everyone, I'm looking at getting a new roasting pan. The one I've used for years has served me extremely well - it's a Bessemer pan but I haven't seen it mentioned here, so maybe it's just sold in Australia. I'm wondering what everyone else would recommend? With the Bessemer I'd throw the...

Should the cake have risen more?

Hmmm, the recipe didn't say baking powder at all. I must admit I was checking out the cake in the movie as it looked like it was 3 or 4 inches tall! but I assume they just made a cake that large for the sake of it looking good in the movie.

Should the cake have risen more?

Thanks everyone! Joesfolk, I peeked at 20 minutes then put it back in for a few more. Thanks so much Silversage! That sounds about right. Thanks LPBeier, I'll keep that in mind for next time I make it. The recipe did say that it should have movement in the middle but I was worried that it...

Should the cake have risen more?

Thanks! Yes I thought it was quite brave of me  I'm pretty good with regular meals but cakes I usually just buy from a patisserie.

Should the cake have risen more?

Good question! Just waiting for it to cool completely before I do the icing. Will let you know later ;)

Should the cake have risen more?

Hi everyone, I just made the Chocolate and Almond cake from Julia Child's book (the cake was also shown in the movie Julie & Julia). Now that I've taken it out of the oven I've noticed that it really didn't rise much. There is almond meal mixed in with the flour so I'm assuming that would...

    Helloo from Sydney, Australia!

My dilemma exactly!!!! I nearly bought the Empire Red just because I also wanted to buy the blender and food processor to match. But the Candy Apple Red was just so gorgeous, I got talked into (by my 12 year old daughter) to get it in the Candy Apple then buy the blender in Almond - that way it...

    Helloo from Sydney, Australia!

 Good one. I'll have to dig out a nice soft cloth for mine. Confession time for me. I have halogen lights under a couple of my cupboards that are above the benchtops so I've positioned my mixer right under a light so that I get that beautiful shine spot on the top of it. It's...

Hi Stephy! We have a couple things in common, I'm in Australia too and I just bought the Candy Apple red Kitchenaid Mixer last week too. :)
